CTSearch presented search results from ClinicalTrials.gov as a set of synchronized tag clouds showing the conditions, interventions, and primary outcomes for, as well as links to, a set of relevant clinical trials. Users could enter a search term, and filter results by clicking tags. Relevant trials were listed and link back to ClinicalTrials.gov for further exploration. This tool provided an improved web interface for accessing and searching semi-structured clinical trial information and could be applied to other biomedical repositories. With the release of the NCBO’s Annotator service, researchers planned to develop CTSearch further by annotating trial information and incorporating the use of semantic hierarchies.

This tool was made by collaborators at UC San Francisco and the University of Victoria.
